King Memorial’s site open for public from today

Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. memorial is open to the public on Monday morning at National Mall  in Washington.Martin Luther King Jr was the civil rights leader in United States, who was a nonviolent leader and follow the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi.

Martin Luther King Jr. was the youngest person to receive the noble peace prize in 1964 for his works against racial discrimination and racial segregation.The memorial of Martin Luther King Jr. is placed between the monuments of honoring presidents Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln.The monument is 30 foot tall and is built with 450 foot long granite wall with 14 quotations inscribed of the civil rights leader.

In the history of modern American liberalism Martin Luther King is showed as  heroic leader.He was assassinated in 1968 in Tennesse.A day is also founded in the memory of Martin Luther King Jr as a U.S federal holiday in 1986.
